The video footage took by Onlookers that has now gone viral shows the victim Anwar Ali lying in a pool of blood crying for help, while someone gives him water.
The incident happened on February 1st, 2017 (Wednesday) morning when Anwar Ali was going to the market where he is working while riding a bicycle when he collided with a bus near the Asoka circle in Koppal district, police said. He was hit and run over by a Karnataka State Road Transport (KSRTC) bus going to Hubballi from Hosapete via koppal (Karnataka).
The incident caught on camera by onlookers, the boy lay bleeding with a tortuous Pain for about 25 minutes before he was rushed to a hospital nearby Asoka circle.
Anwar Ali who was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance break down to his injuries around 1:30 pm, Anwar’s brother Riaz said “None of them came to his help; they were making the video and taking pictures. If someone had cared for him without wasting 15 to 20 minutes over there, my brother could have been saved.”
Local koppal people reveal that the area where the accident took place is an accident-prone zone and authorities have not taken action despite repeated accidents over there. Recently, in a similar incident, a 38 years old police officer deprived of timely medical help by onlookers. Karnataka has a Good Samaritan law to protect those who provide aid to accident victims. But here no one came to his help.
Police have registered a case in this connection, the person who claims to be an eyewitness to the accident said, “People at the Mishap spot were shocked and they didn’t know how to help/resuce him as the victim was severely injured and was bleeding lavishly.”
