Chennai-based motorcycle company, TVS Motor Company has been granted the patent for the Auto Hybrid Transmission (AHT) System for two-wheelers. Even the system involving a combination of an FSTM (Fixed-Speed-Transmission-Mechanism) and a CVTM (Continuously-Variable-Transmission-Mechanism).
The transmission mechanisms, which means it is required to transmit power from one rotating part to another part of the automobile through the various transmission mechanism. The transmission mechanism in vehicles runs to produce an optimal output of rotation and speed during acceleration. TVS Motor Company has documented the patent for both CVTM and FSTM, Which provides a better output on overall operational speed & rotation in all acceleration levels.

According to a patented documentation by TVS Motor Company,
—>CVTM is fitted with belts which will slip frequently @ low speed and also the acceleration of the rotating members will vary frequently.
—->When compared with CVTM, FSTM provides one or more transmission ratio for better initial rotating acceleration at low speed but at high & constant speed. But FSTM is limited, so we can’t achieve maximum speed & power transmission is not that smooth.
---- Therefore, the CVTM in combination with FSTM can provide better efficiency at all operating speeds, the company said. ------
—>To overcome the transmission ratio problem, TVS Motor Company has invented a new Transmission system which equipment combines both CVTM and FSTM so it is named as AHT (Auto Hybrid Transmission) which can produce optimum acceleration in all the varing speeds i.e from low to high rotations.
But TVS Motor Company further said that due to design constraints, the transmission member of a two-wheeler provided only with the CVTM. Because it cannot be transformed into an AHT Auto hybrid transmission system, Which provides high transmission efficiency at all operating speeds irrespective of acceleration variation. Hence, the design of the transmission member is required which will help in the installation of the FSTM to be reinstalled.Which provide high transmission efficiency at all operating speeds irrespective of acceleration variation.
