Royal Enfield rises to became the fourth largest motorcycle sellers in India by overtaking TVS Motors

Due to the demonetization there has been a steep fall in the sales of automobile industries, same way two wheeler manufacturer is no different . But this has led to the major change in the ranking of Indian motorcycle sellers , in terms of sale.

This is mainly due to the Demonetization, which has effected the Indian commuter bike segment. And the dependence of TVS on its sales in the commuter bike segment, which is not the case with the Royal Enfield. As Royal Enfield managed to sell 1,70,292 units where as TVS was up with 1,18,489 units. Which brought the change in the current ranking of Indian motorcycle manufacture, with the shift of  Royal Enfield  from 5th to the 4rt place , and opposite change to the TVS’s ranking.

Here is the complete list:

  1. Hero MotorCorp  – 11.30 lakh units sold (between November 2016 to January 2017).
  2. Bajaj 3.66 lakh units sold (between November 2016 to January 2017).
  3. Honda2.88 lakh units sold (between November 2016 to January 2017).
  4. Royal Enfield 1.70 lakh units sold (between November 2016 to January 2017).
  5.  TVS Motors1.18 lakh units sold (between November 2016 to January 2017).

As with the success of  Royal Enfield Himalayan this is the major accomplishment for British motorcycle brand Royal Enfield. But its intresting to see how long Royal Enfield could hold on to this position as TVS are presenting some major bikes with the collaboration BMW.
