Motul 7100 20W50 Motorcycle Engine Oil For TVS Apache RTR Series | Long Term Review

The most asked question! so we here gonna answer. We all know that engine oil holds a great importance for our bike’s functioning and performing. The motorcycle’s heart that is what we call ECG (Engine, Clutch & Gear) is dependent on engine oil. Hence selecting a good engine oil is really important for the smooth and efficient functioning of your motorcycle.

I started searching for best engine oil for my bike.I own TVS Apache RTR 160 (new 2013 model). But TVS Motor Company suggested me to use TVS TRU4 PREMIUM.

I started googling ” Best engine oil for TVS Apache RTR 160 ” . I got a lot of results, but I am not satisfied with that results. But I found many professional stunters , who stunt on Apache will feed MOTUL . After all this research on which is the best oil for my bike, I finally decided to buy the Motul 7100 20W-50 Fully Synthetic Oil.

Let me explain..

Day I filled MOTUL:

I fed the TVS Apache RTR 160 with this cherry-coloured liquid from Motul. Initially, I felt very bad that I wasted my money  because it was still behaving like it would on the initial TVS TRU4 PREMIUM. My way back home was like why did I waste my money which does not make any difference in my bike core.

A Comprehensive Review after a short ride:

Engine performance:

After burning the oil in the engine over a short ride of 150kms, I could feel the effects of the oil in my engine and gear shift too. The sound of the engine and vibration changed completely all of a sudden. The main complaint from all TVS community(In Facebook page, Facebook group & Whats App) will always talk about how to reduce vibration on TVS Apache RTR 160!!. Here one could actually feel the vibration reducing by an average of 33.5% ( 3 times tested by vibrometer and taken it as average ).

Transmission:

One more complaint on TVS Apache RTR 160 is gear shifting. The gear shifts which earlier used to be a hard and it will be stuck in between while shifting. Know the shifts became so smooth that you won’t feel any jerk. The feedback though reduced by up to 50% due to the excessive smoothness of the gear shifts. After using Motul 7100 20W-50 I feel like racing just because of easy gear shifting ,smooth engine & better performance.

Ride of 500kms in summer heat :

Over 500 km of riding in the summer heat, you can easily find the difference Motul 7100 20W-50 makes to your bike’s engine. After using Motul, my rides to Agumbe, Sringeri, Hornadu, Seremane falls and some other place of ghat section. The overall stress on the engine has reduced literally a lot. There is not much difference with mileage which is almost 4km/ltr more efficiency than previous engine oil. On other parts, the engine runs a lot cooler than it would usually have had.

Temperature or Heating issues:

TVS Apache RTR 160 will carry Air cooling system. After 10:30am usually surrounding temperature will be high and even engine oil will be burning at high temperature when you ride for more than 150+ km. Where as now with the Motul 7100 20W-50, even at 1 pm in the hot summer afternoon 150 km ride doesn’t heat up engine more compare to previous oil. Which saved from heat and also increased my bike mileage. This is one major difference that needs to be noted.
