Honda has celebrated their half a century in premier class World Grand Prix Racing by uniting MotoGP’s current top riders, Marc Marquez & Dani Pedrosa from Repsol Honda riders with the RC181 machine along with its current MotoGP contestant, the RC213V. The photo shoot was conducted in pit lane last night at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit.
Honda first entered World GP racing in 1959 in the 125cc class at the Isle of Man TT. 2 years later, Honda claimed its first victory & its first championship title. In 1966, before Honda forayed into the premier class ( which was the 500cc premier class in 1966 ).
The RC181 that marks Honda’s first step into successfully competing in the premier class.

- Powered by an Air-cooled.
- FOUR-valve straight.
- FOUR-cylinder DOHC engine.
Launched in the opening round, the German GP to claim its 1st victory with a dominating 26-second lead. It went on to win 5 of the nine race( grand Prix ) in that season. This not only giving Honda the manufacturer’s title. but contributing to Honda’s clean sweep of all 5 classes ( 50cc, 125cc, 250cc, 350cc, & 500cc ).
Since then, Honda has won 277 premiere class races 500cc / MotoGP grand Prix , 38 riders and constructors titles.
