Indian two wheeler Hero Motors will manufacture components for the Italian bike maker Ducati. These components will be manufactured by Hero in India.
Mr. Pankaj Munjal, Chairman & MD, Hero Group said, “This definitely is a big leap for us & we are excited about this new development.” “With this win, we are not only forging a strong relationship with a global two-wheeler leaders but also reaffirming Hero’s proficiency and expertise in specialized manufacturing,” he added.
It is being reported that Ducati has given a contract to Hero Motors to produce transmission components. This will result in a reasonable cost.
Hero Motors have also manufacturing transmission solutions for top two-wheeler brands such as Harley-Davidson & BMW Motorrad.
The Hero is planned to expand operations in the European market. Hero Motors next move includes into a strategic collaboration with the European company to have a great designing, development, prototyping & testing. Eventually, mass production is done in India.
To keep high standards of quality, Hero has invested Rs.150 crore in establishing world class infrastructure. while a same amount is expected to be invested in the International market.
Interestingly, almost 80 percent of the Hero Group’s business is with global market leaders in the bike business.
