BMW G310R and G310GS India Launch Officially Confirmed for second-half of 2018 | Price ??

BMW Motorrad has confirmed both G310R and G310GS in India in the second half of 2018. The small-capacity motorcycles are being manufactured by TVS in Hosur plant. The G310R is already on sale internationally with the G310GS about to follow suit.

April this year, the BMW announced its initial line-up of premium big bikes for India. This new setup of  BMW showroom surprised a few people because of competitive price when compared with the exorbitant rates charged when BMW bikes were previously sold via Navnit Motors. The current line-up of bikes are all full-sized imports and we’re yet to receive the company’s mid-size offerings that should come in via the FTA (free trade agreement) route through the company’s assembly plant in Thailand.

The only reason for their delay is the lack of dealerships in India, where BMW will open 3 new dealerships in Delhi, Chennai, and Cochin by the end of this year to resolve their issue and In 2018, The company plans to open 3 more in Chandigarh, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. In the past six months, BMW has already opened 4-showrooms in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Pune. By opening 6more new showrooms by the end of next year to improve their market level as well as to introduce two new mid-sized motorcycles to the Indian market.

What can we expect in terms of pricing?

The Company planning for a strong network of dealerships will help them sell BMW G310R naked street fighter and G310GS adventure in good numbers. Around INR 30,000 of a price difference between these both the bikes.

G310GS gets bigger 19-inch wheels, better seating and provision to mount luggage for long rides.
