@ 2017 Yamaha Fazer 25 (250)
Yamaha Motor made its initial entry into India in 1985 as a joint-venture. From 2001, it became a 100% subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd, Japan (YMC). In 2008, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. entered into an agreement with YMC to become an investor jointly in India Yamaha Motor Private Limited (IYM). Now Yamaha recently launched the quarter-litre variant of its naked roadster motorcycle, the FZ25, in the Indian market. Their R&D department though might be working on their next model based on the Yamaha FZ 25. The naked roadster is expected to be followed by the semi-faired version with the Fazer tag. For a first look, the semi-faired Yamaha Fazer 25 (2017 Yamaha Fazer 250) has been designed by render specialist Shoeb Kalania has revealed a digitally imagined version of the quarter-litre semi-faired motorcycle.
This new 2017 Yamaha Fazer 250 is powered by a 249 cc single cylinder SOHC FI engine,4-stroke, 2-valve, fuel injected motor with oil cooler which generates 20.9 bhp power at 8,000 rpm and 20.4 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm. Yamaha India has confirmed that the Fazer 250 is on its way soon by April 2017. The render of 2017 Fazer 250 continues with the same front semi-fairing design. With new latest Tank design, same as that of FZ25 including seat arrangement. To give it a more of a touring stance, the render comes with accessories like luggage kit and more convenient pillion grab rails to attract road riders.
The new 2017 FZ25 has been priced at INR Rs.119,500 (ex-showroom), New Delhi. it just a hike of INR Rs.10,000 as the other existing models is separated by a price tag of just INR 7500 on the version 2.0 FZ family, hence it will be priced much lower than the R3 or the MT-03. We can expect the bike to return about 40-45 km/l. This will be a mix of city and highway riding. So the efficiency will take some hit due to the presence of BS-IV engine to meet new Govt. Emission norms.
