2017 YAMAHA R3 Awaits BS-IV Launch, As BS-III Model Discontinued


Yamaha R3 was launched in India in August 2015. It was revealed that they had the sales target of about 300 units per month by the company but that had not been the case. Sales of Yamaha have been far below the expectations for Winner of 2016 Indian Motorcycle of the Year award.

Yamaha R3 is now discontinued from India not because of low sales, but due to the implementation of the BS4 rule.

From 1st April 2017, India has banned the sale of BS3 compliant vehicles. Since Yamaha R3 being a BS3 compatible vehicle, it cannot be sold anymore in India.YamahaR3 will remain missing from the company line unless Yamaha launches BS4 variant.

It has a twin headlamp, a sporty fuel tank, split seats and meaty tyres carrying forward the R series DNA. It is held with a diamond tubular frame which is suspended by conventional telescopic front fork and mono shock rear suspension system.

It also comes with shod with MRF tyres and both wheels are retarded by a disc each.
