ROYAL ENFIELD standard 500 which is just a 4-months old bursts into flames during a trip to LEH. Although the exact reason for the fire is still not discovered it is suspected to be engine’s technical problem.
When he was riding in leh, he didn’t notice the fire in the bike in the beginning because he thought it was normal engine heat due to riding in tough/rough roads. when fire catches his leg & hand. he stopped his bike, but finally, the bike was burnt into ashes.
Royal Enfield has recently updated the RE Bullet 500 with the BS-IV emission norms. There is a slight increase in the power by 1.12PS and 0.4Nm over the carbureted unit. Bullet 500 produces 27.5PS @ 5,250rpm and a peak torque of 41.3Nm @ 4,000rpm.
